A well-established engineering consulting firm is seeking a licensed Project Manager with expertise in water and wastewater infrastructure. This role involves leading municipal drinking water and wastewater projects throughout New York and the broader New England region. The position carries significant responsibility within the firm’s regional operations and offers long-term advancement opportunities.

Role Responsibilities

  • Manage a wide range of municipal water and wastewater projects, including water supply, treatment, distribution, storage, wastewater collection, pumping, treatment, and reuse

  • Oversee project planning, design, engineering analysis, and construction-phase services

  • Lead proposal development, client presentations, and interview preparation in collaboration with marketing teams

  • Mentor and develop junior engineers and technical staff

  • Apply advanced engineering principles to resolve project and design challenges

  • Direct project budgets, schedules, quality control, and task execution

  • Maintain consistent communication with clients, regulatory agencies, and internal project teams

  • Serve as the technical lead on multi-disciplinary and complex engineering projects

  • Supervise preparation of design documents, technical specifications, and bid packages

  • Ensure adherence to project milestones, quality standards, and regulatory requirements

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in water and/or wastewater engineering, with familiarity in municipal infrastructure preferred

  • Experience supervising teams or managing direct reports

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam; experience with financial or project management software is a plus

  • Strong understanding of applicable regulatory frameworks and funding programs

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Proven ability to collaborate across teams and build strong professional relationships

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and results-focused

  • Demonstrated client relationship skills and experience preparing proposals

  • Dedication to continuing education and professional development

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering required; Master’s in Environmental Engineering preferred

  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required
