Some engineering leadership roles are glorified admin jobs. This isn’t one of them.

We’re partnered with a growing engineering consultancy looking for a Civil Engineering Team Lead who can operate at both the technical and commercial level — someone who knows how to lead projects, build client trust, mentor engineers, and keep momentum moving when deadlines tighten.

You’ll be stepping into a visible leadership role with influence across project delivery, team development, and regional growth.

If you’ve built your career in land development and are now looking for a seat at the table — not just another project queue — this is worth a conversation.

What You’ll Actually Be Doing

  • Leading civil engineering and land development projects from early planning through delivery
  • Managing and mentoring engineers, designers, and junior project staff
  • Acting as a key point of contact for clients, municipalities, and stakeholders
  • Reviewing designs, calculations, plans, and technical documentation
  • Keeping projects commercially healthy — schedule, scope, staffing, and budget
  • Supporting proposals, business development activity, and long-term client relationships
  • Coordinating across disciplines to keep delivery streamlined and efficient
  • Helping shape internal processes, standards, and team growth strategy

The Kind of Background That Fits

  • PE license required
  • 10+ years within civil engineering / land development
  • Strong experience managing complex commercial, residential, or municipal projects
  • Comfortable leading teams, clients, and conversations — not just designs
  • Knowledge of permitting, municipal processes, and development regulations
  • Experience with Civil3D, AutoCAD, or similar platforms
  • Bonus points for water/wastewater infrastructure exposure

What They’re Looking For Beyond the Resume

This team values people who:

  • don’t wait to be told what to do
  • can handle pressure without creating chaos
  • understand the business side of engineering
  • genuinely enjoy developing junior talent
  • can walk into a client meeting and sound like a partner, not just a consultant

Why This Opportunity Stands Out

There’s a genuine growth track here. The leadership team wants people who can help build something — not just maintain it.

You’ll have visibility, autonomy, and the chance to influence both project direction and team culture without getting buried in layers of corporate process.

Package

  • Competitive base salary
  • Performance-based bonus structure
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Full medical, dental & vision coverage
  • PTO + holidays
  • Professional development support & tuition assistance
  • Long-term progression into senior leadership

If you’re open to hearing more, apply directly or reach out confidentially for a conversation.
