Overview

We are seeking an experienced and confident Cyber Security Consultant to join our team in a high-impact, client-facing role. You will operate within secure environments, leading advanced penetration testing, vulnerability assessments, and red team simulations as part of structured security engagements. Your work will play a critical role in identifying, communicating, and mitigating cyber risks across complex systems, helping clients build stronger security postures.

As a CHECK Team Leader, you will deliver technical testing and consultancy aligned with CHECK standards, producing comprehensive reports and strategic recommendations tailored to both technical stakeholders and executive leadership.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver on-site security assessments in secure environments with professionalism and discretion.
  • Perform vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and device build reviews, ensuring thorough evaluation of IT systems.
  • Conduct red team exercises and advanced threat simulations, specializing in network infrastructure penetration testing.
  • Execute technical security testing against systems and products to identify and analyse vulnerabilities.
  • Ensure all testing activities comply with legal, regulatory, and contractual obligations and remain within defined scopes.
  • Produce detailed technical reports outlining assessment results, risk prioritization, and actionable remediation guidance.
  • Communicate cyber risk effectively to both technical teams and C-level stakeholders, translating technical findings into business impact.
  • Deliver all work in accordance with the NCSC CHECK scheme standards.
  • Provide expert consultancy, offering practical security recommendations tailored to client needs.
  • Collaborate with internal and client-side teams to exceed service expectations and maintain a high standard of delivery.

 

Required Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience in penetration testing, red teaming, and advanced cyber assessments.
  • Strong background in network infrastructure security testing.
  • Knowledge of secure build reviews and device health checks.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in secure, client-facing environments.
  • Exceptional report writing and communication skills, with the ability to adapt messaging for technical and executive audiences.
  • Familiarity with delivering services under the CHECK scheme and to its standards.
  • A proactive, detail-oriented approach with a commitment to continuous learning and security best practices.
