We’re representing a leading heavy civil contractor looking to add an experienced Senior Superintendent to oversee major water and wastewater projects throughout Texas. This individual will play a key role in driving field operations across large-scale utility and treatment infrastructure work while providing leadership to project teams, subcontractors, and site personnel.
The position offers strong visibility within the organization and is ideal for someone who thrives managing complex operations, developing teams, and delivering high-profile civil projects safely and efficiently.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
- Leading field operations on large-scale water and wastewater infrastructure projects
- Managing Superintendents, Foremen, subcontractors, and field crews across multiple phases of construction
- Ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with contract requirements
- Coordinating manpower, equipment, subcontractors, and material deliveries to maintain production schedules
- Partnering with Project Managers to develop and maintain detailed construction schedules
- Leading site safety initiatives and enforcing OSHA and company safety standards
- Collaborating with municipalities, owners, engineers, inspectors, and utility representatives throughout project execution
- Resolving field coordination challenges, constructability issues, and scheduling conflicts
- Monitoring productivity, quality control, and project cost performance
- Overseeing project reporting, inspections, progress tracking, and closeout documentation
- Supporting preconstruction planning, sequencing reviews, and operational strategy
- Mentoring and developing field leadership teams to strengthen long-term operational performance
- Participating in client meetings, progress updates, and project negotiations when needed
What They’re Looking For
- 10+ years of heavy civil construction experience with a strong emphasis on water and wastewater infrastructure
- Proven experience leading large municipal utility, treatment plant, pipeline, or pump station projects
- Strong knowledge of underground utilities, concrete structures, site development, and process mechanical systems
- Demonstrated success managing multiple crews and complex field operations simultaneously
- Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and CPM schedules
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with Texas municipal construction standards and regulatory requirements preferred
- OSHA certification preferred or required depending on project assignment
- Willingness to travel throughout the Texas region as needed
Technical & Software Experience
Preferred experience includes:
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project
- HCSS HeavyJob
- Procore, Viewpoint, or similar construction management platforms
- Bluebeam or related document management software
