About the Role

An established UK-based structural and civil engineering practice is looking to appoint a Structural Engineer to join its growing team.

The practice delivers expert engineering advice and practical, well-considered design solutions across a wide range of sectors. Their work focuses on clear, economical, and sensible designs, with strong attention to detail and aesthetics.

This role suits a Structural Engineer with 5+ years’ experience who is confident delivering designs, managing their own workload, and contributing to projects while continuing to develop professionally toward chartership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce structural design solutions from concept through to detailed design and completion

  • Prepare structural calculations in accordance with Eurocodes

  • Design using reinforced concrete, steel, masonry, timber, and foundations

  • Produce PDF design mark-ups and technical sketches

  • Compile calculation packs for Building Control submissions

  • Prepare technical reports

  • Communicate with clients and the wider design team

  • Attend design meetings and undertake site visits

  • Manage your own workload and collaborate with the wider structural team

Projects span multiple sectors including residential, commercial, industrial, hotels, sports, leisure, education, and hospitality.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering (or equivalent)

  • 5+ years’ relevant industry experience

  • Comfortable working to current UK design and construction standards

  • Good working knowledge of Tekla Tedds and TSD

  • Experience using PDF mark-up software (e.g. Bluebeam Revu or similar)

  • Familiarity with CDE collaboration platforms (advantageous)

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently

  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills, including Excel
