This one is about driving projects forward while leading crews in the field.

We’re partnered with a growing heavy civil contractor seeking an experienced Superintendent to oversee water and wastewater infrastructure projects across Texas. This role is critical to successful project delivery, leading daily field operations while ensuring safety, quality, productivity, and client expectations are consistently met.

The ideal candidate brings strong field leadership experience within utility and infrastructure construction and enjoys being hands-on throughout every phase of a project.

 

What You’ll Be Responsible For

  • Managing daily field operations on water and wastewater construction projects
  • Coordinating crews, subcontractors, vendors, materials, and equipment across active job sites
  • Driving project schedules while maintaining safety and quality standards
  • Leading daily coordination meetings, toolbox talks, and site safety activities
  • Working closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Owners, and Inspectors throughout construction
  • Monitoring project progress and identifying solutions to field challenges and constructability issues
  • Maintaining project records including daily reports, manpower tracking, schedules, and material logs
  • Supporting project budgeting, production tracking, and cost control efforts
  • Ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety procedures
  • Assisting with quality inspections, punch list activities, and project closeout
  • Mentoring foremen and developing field personnel

 

What They’re Looking For

  • 7+ years of heavy civil construction experience with a strong focus on water/wastewater infrastructure
  • Experience with underground utilities, pipelines, pump stations, treatment facilities, and site development work
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and schedules
  • Strong leadership and communication skills in fast-paced field environments
  • Proven ability to manage multiple crews and subcontractors simultaneously
  • Familiarity with Texas municipal utility construction standards is highly preferred
  • OSHA certification is a plus
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within Texas as projects require

 

Technical & Software Experience

Preferred experience includes:

  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project
  • HCSS HeavyJob
  • Bluebeam or related document management tools
  • Procore, Viewpoint, or comparable construction management platforms
