Water Resources St Louis
A people-first civil engineering consultancy in the St. Louis, Missouri area is looking for a Senior Project Manager to lead water resources and civil infrastructure projects. This is a full-time position with flexible hybrid working, suited to someone with 8+ years’ experience who’s ready to take ownership of important work and support the development of junior staff.
About the Role
You’ll manage projects that shape how communities manage rainfall, reduce flood risk, and protect local waterways. The work spans both technical design and environmental outcomes, from stormwater storage and drainage design to creek stabilisation and bridge/culvert sizing for high-flow events.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead water resources projects end-to-end: planning, design, permitting and construction support.
- Deliver stormwater systems (pipes, detention basins, BMPs) and green infrastructure (parks, trails, greenways).
- Manage flood mitigation work, including H&H modelling, floodplain analysis, and levees/dams/dikes design.
- Develop and control scopes, budgets and programmes across multi-discipline teams.
- Design and oversee erosion control and river/creek bank stabilisation schemes.
- Deliver bridge and culvert designs, including survey, submittal/shop drawing and construction reviews.
- Coordinate permits and work closely with federal/state/local agencies, clients and stakeholders.
- Mentor junior engineers and support team growth.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or related discipline).
- PE licence (or ability to obtain licensure in Missouri).
- Strong technical capability in AutoCAD Civil 3D, GIS, and hydrologic/hydraulic modelling.
- Experience with floodplain analysis, site survey review, and reviewing shop drawings.
- Proven leadership, communication, and project delivery skills.
